Ahmadu Bello University Consultancy Services (ABUCONS) Nigeria Limited is a consultancy firm established in 1984 to officially coordinate all consultancy activities in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. It was fully incorporated into a Limited Liability Company by the CAC in 1987 with registration number RC94643. The mandate of ABUCONS is to do business and render commercial services for the purpose of income generation and to enable the University deploy its vast human and material resources towards national development. The essence of incorporation as a company is to enable it run effectively as a business unit with clearly defined business goals and objectives and to keep it free of the cumbersome processes of bureaucracy which could greatly affect its ability to operate profitably as a business organisation. ABUCONS is a full-service company, specialising in all facets of construction consultancy services, design and building services, water supply, geological survey, mining, agricultural services, information and communication technology services, Projects Management services, medical supply and consultancy, and Facilities Management services to mention just a few. Since 1987, ABUCONS has provided these services to a broad spectrum of clients, including government agencies and private enterprises. We are known for innovative, cost-competitive services, responsiveness to unique requirement and expertise. ABUCONS draws its professional staff from the over 2800 academics and 8000 non-academics in various units of Ahmadu Bello University, across a hundred and nine (119) Departments, eighteen (18) Faculties, twenty one (21) institutes and centers, two extension services units, three colleges of agriculture and a postgraduate school. When the need arises, ABUCONS also draws manpower from external sources such as other educational and research institutions outside the university and among the private sector. The consultants of ABUCONS are qualified, experienced and skilled intellectuals that can meet the requirements of an ever changing and dynamic world of business. About 550 Professor, 220 Readers and over 400 Senior Lecturers and PhD holders. Most of them are members of their respective professional and learned societies such as Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), TOPREC, NIM, ICAN, ANAN, NIQS, NIOB, NMA, ACA, NIMC etc.
